And most of the category icons are done. I used transparent-background PNGs so that if I ever get around to changing the background color they won't be sitting in little white boxes. The only one left is for "In Passing." I just spent a couple of hours browsing through my dingbat collection, and nothing seemed suitable. Right now I'm out of ideas. Maybe I'll do a temporary one that says "Imagine Icon Here."

Newspaper companies, not just those in Detroit, seem to have made a decision to publish newspapers for people who do not like to read. They are putting out papers for those who would rather watch television.Jack Lessenberry remembers Detroit Free Press managing editor Neil Shine.

I was at Home Depot this morning buying some gardening supplies. I had no trouble finding the seed and fertilizer but I nearly caused an incident when I asked where I could find a hose.
