‘‘A peaceful, prosperous community or nation does not need community organizers.

‘‘Community organizers, on the other hand, can’t function in a peaceful, prosperous nation, so they are always, ALWAYS, striving to destroy it.’’

‘‘The reason America why usually wins isn’t that its leaders outsmart their leaders, but because its ordinary Joes outpower the other guy’s ordinary Joes.  In the phrase ‘President of the United States,’ the important part is ‘United States.’  The president can be almost anybody.’’

Indiana Rube Self-Identifies

‘‘You fucked up. You trusted them.’’  Dept

Breitbart:
Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) says that House GOP leadership... duped him into switching his vote on the procedural measure that set up the 1,774-page, $1.1 trillion cromnibus spending bill backed by House Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama to pass.
...
Stutzman says he switched his vote on the floor because House GOP leadership... promised him that if the rule passed, the cromnibus would be replaced by a short-term spending measure...
...and a pony.  There has to have been a pony!

But no!
‘‘Earlier today, I supported the Rule because I was informed by Leadership that the CROmnibus was dead and a short term CR would take its place,’’ Stutzman said in the statement.   ‘‘I was very surprised and even more disappointed to see the CROmnibus back on the floor.  The American people deserve better.’’
Certainly, ‘‘the American people’’ do.  Too bad that what they’ve got is you.
All of this comes after Boehner and GOP leadership engaged in procedural chicanery to substantively alter a bill... that was supposed to be the cover vote against Obama's executive amnesty for Republicans last week. Instead, leadership inserted language that actually provides a legal justification for Obama's executive amnesty into the bill.
IOW, they’d already lied to you once.

Hellofajob, Marlin!

The Federalist previews the new New Republic website.  Tee hee.

Well, yes, but snarking about somebody else’s Web2.0 triviality tends to misfire when the articles linked in your own sidebar include Why Jon Stewart Is Bad For America, We Shop Because We Yearn, and The New Mirror Men: From Metrosexual To Spornosexual.  Oh well...

‘‘One... side effect... of the legal/regulatory state [is] to cut off poor people from small-scale entrepreneurship.  Want to open a roadside taco stand?  Offer cab services with your private car?  Braid hair in your living room?  Clean houses without a license or OSHA inspection?  Work for less than minimum wage?

‘‘Add in a host of other restrictions and requirements that effectively function as a moat to competition that protects larger, better funded businesses, and you block an entire class of people (by income) from entrepreneurial work.

‘‘Remember the history of Jews in America?  Remember the pushcarts and rug peddlers and all the other modes of self-employment that kept them and their offspring warm, fed, and well enough educated to become the next generation of doctors, lawyers, scholars, and businessmen?

‘‘We don’t do that any more.  And if you try, you risk your life.  Because that makes you a vile criminal.’’
- Bill Quick
