Dear Diary...

Important things to remember

Crowbarring a 208-volt circuit produces a considerably brighter flash than if it had been only 120 volts.

Details?

I remember seeing a 220 line drilled through once.  Pretty fireworks.  Glad it wasn't me on the drill.

3 I've snipped a 208V circuit on a 50A breaker, using fiberglass-handled cutters NOT designed for hot work.  It was supposed to be off; I was assured it was off and didn't check.  Huge bright flash, I dropped the cutters and kicked myself away from it, across the floor.  Much excitement among co-workers.  And the breaker had still not tripped.

     I always check now.
