I remember seeing a 220 line drilled through once. Pretty fireworks. Glad it wasn't me on the drill.

I've snipped a 208V circuit on a 50A breaker, using fiberglass-handled cutters NOT designed for hot work. It was supposed to be off; I was assured it was off and didn't check. Huge bright flash, I dropped the cutters and kicked myself away from it, across the floor. Much excitement among co-workers. And the breaker had still not tripped.
